Live the Dream Homeownership Supportive Services Program

The Housing Authority’s Live the Dream Program provides pre-purchase homeownership preparation training and one on one counseling using the assistance of bilingual aides, an African-American liaison, and ten community and five faith-based partners. As of August 2003, 64 participants have completed “Yes You Can” Homeownership Training offered by the Kentucky Housing Corporation and featuring HUD staff, local attorneys, bankers, realtors, and mortgage lenders. Eighteen of these participants are public housing residents. As a result of training and one on one counseling, nine Live the Dream participants have been pre-approved through Meridian Mortgage or National City Bank for a loan ranging from $70,000-$150,000.

Enterprise Community First Time Homeowners Project

The Housing Authority has received a grant of $12,000 to provide down-payment assistance of $2,000 for six Enterprise Community residents to purchase new or existing homes.
