"We have several staff members who have been here a long time. They understand the goals and the mission."
— Katie Miller, on continuing HABG's legacy

A Career Built at HABG

What started as a part-time job working with children in an after-school program has become a 20-plus year career dedicated to the residents of Bowling Green. Katie Miller joined the Housing Authority of Bowling Green in 2001 as a college student and tutor — and never left.

Over the years, she worked her way through nearly every aspect of the organization. She became a program manager, then a grant writer, then Finance Director, and most recently Deputy Director before being named Executive Director in August 2024. Miller holds a Bachelor's degree in Finance from Western Kentucky University.

"Throughout her career, she has been instrumental in seeking funding to continue the programs and services the Housing Authority offers," said Board Chair Adam Shourds. "The board of directors has full confidence in Miller to continue the vision and mission of the Housing Authority."
