A positive, safe place for students in grades K–12 to get homework help, tutoring, and the tools they need to succeed in school and in life.

The mission of the HABG Learning Center Program is to provide students in grades K–12 a positive and safe learning environment to develop the tools they need to increase academic performance, leadership, and life-long learning.
HABG serves students in and around residential sites in Bryant Way, Phenix Place, and the Summit View/Gordon Ave. developments. Through a generous partnership with Burton Memorial Baptist Church and approximately 50 WKU volunteer students, services for approximately 25 students continue three days a week at our Bryant Way location.
Centers are staffed by part-time WKU after school tutors and America Reads volunteers, providing personalized homework help and enrichment activities every afternoon.
"Every student deserves a chance to succeed — and we're here to make sure they get it."

The design of the program attempts to address the wide variety of learning needs presented by the students involved. Academic needs can include tutorial assistance, skill enhancement, goal setting, and enrichment.
Because students vary in their academic needs, the program includes a variety of activities that can be sequenced and adapted to help students address their immediate as well as longer term academic goals. Each student moves through at the pace he or she requires, progressing from short term to longer term goals.
Recognizing the physical and social needs of students, the daily program also provides a snack and some free time for students to interact.

The summer program is a seven-week session focused on core content areas — math, English, and science. Staff are trained in literacy instruction, remediation, and intervention, and Warren County Schools provides a master teacher to guide instruction throughout the summer.
During the summer, two centers open to provide students with enrichment classes in math, science, and reading. In addition to daily academics, two meals are provided each day and fun activities are planned for all students. We partner with the Free and Reduced Lunch Program to serve a hot meal and breakfast daily.
We also offer summer camp for incoming kindergarteners to ensure they are fully prepared for the upcoming school year.
