After School/Summer Program

AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM

The design of the program attempts to address the wide variety of learning needs presented by the students involved.  These academic needs can include tutorial assistance, academic skill enhancement, goal setting, and enrichment.  Because students vary in their academic needs, the program is designed to include a variety of activities that can be sequenced and adapted to help students address their immediate, as well as, longer term academic goals.  The sequence of activities provided allow each student to move through the pace he/she requires and move from short term to longer term goals.  Recognizing the physical and social needs of students.  The daily program also provides snack and some free time for students to interact.

Program Elements and Sequence of Student Activities.

  • Homework (tutorial assistance)
  • Learning packets (academic skill enhancement)
  • Reading (individual, peer, tutor lead, group, or computer based, academic skill enhancement)
  • Interactive educational activity (enrichment)
  • Snack and Free time (physical/social need)

SUMMER PROGRAM

7 weeks program focused on instruction of the core content (Math, English, and Science.  Staff is trained in literacy instruction effectiveness, remediation and intervention.  Warren County schools provides a master teacher to help provide instruction and oversight in the summer.

During the summer, two centers open to provide students with enrichment classes in math, science, and reading.  In addition to their daily academic needs, two meals are provided throughout the day & fun filled activities are planned for students.  We partner with the Free and Reduced Lunch Program to provide a hot meal and serve breakfast.

Kindergarten readiness- We offer summer camp to in coming kindergarteners. Our goal is to take these students and ensure they are ready for the upcoming school year.
