The HUD Inspector will be here to inspect HABG developments between June 8 and June 18, 2026. The inspection has changed and is now focused on the inside of units. Not all apartments will be inspected -- the inspector will randomly select a percentage from each development. You are not required to be present.
New items on the inspection list include: Clutter, housekeeping, empty cans/bottles/food wrappers, dirty tubs, anything flammable within three feet of a gas furnace (paper, cloth, wood, plastic), evidence of roaches or mice, and smoke detector/carbon monoxide alarm checks.
If you have any maintenance issues, make sure work orders are called in to your maintenance office before the inspection.
If you are not home during the inspection, HABG staff will leave a note in your apartment. Housing Authority staff will always be present with the inspector.
You are responsible for your guests. You are subject to eviction for criminal activity or drug related activity on property by guests.
If you are a resident you can be evicted for criminal activity, drug activity, or alcohol abuse on or off the premises.
It is the tenant's responsibility to keep their premises in a safe and sanitary manner. Not doing so is a lease violation and could lead to eviction.
Utilities must be maintained in the tenant's name -- this includes BGMU and ATMOS. If these are disconnected it could lead to eviction.
No gardens are allowed to be planted outside your unit.
There are NO POOLS allowed on HABG property.
Please clean up after your pets.
Please do not pull trash cans around until the night before pickup.
If you have infants in your household, free diapers and wipes are available. Contact the office that serves your community.
