💡
Utilities

The Housing Authority furnishes your water, sewer, and trash collection. You are responsible for setting up your own electric and gas service.

Electric — Bowling Green Municipal (BGMU)
801 Center Street, Bowling Green, KY · bgmu.com
🔥
Gas — ATMOS Energy
ATMOS is no longer local — call 888-954-4321 to set up service.
⚠️
We cannot lease to you until you show proof that electric and gas are turned on in your name. We require receipts, or if transferring, a letter showing the transfer.
🔐
Security Deposit

There is a security deposit of $200.00 payable to the Housing Authority at the time of leasing.

⚠️
We DO NOT ACCEPT partial payments. The full $200.00 must be paid at the time of leasing.
🐾
Pet Policy

Pets are allowed at HABG properties with the required deposit and fee paid in full before bringing your pet onto HABG property.

Security Deposit$200.00
Pet Fee$150.00
Total (Standard)$350.00
ℹ️
Elderly or disabled residents have a reduced pet deposit of $50.00. The full amount must still be paid before bringing your pet on to HABG property.
💰
Rent

Your rent is based upon 30% of your adjusted gross income. Each household receives a utility allowance which is deducted from your rent amount.

This means your rent is calculated based on what your household earns — not a flat rate. The utility allowance helps offset the cost of utilities you are responsible for (electric and gas).
