Free education and one-on-one counseling that moves families from renting to owning, plus post purchase and foreclosure prevention support once you are in your home.
The mission of the Housing Authority of Bowling Green's Live The Dream Development Inc. nonprofit is to offer the most effective techniques for achieving homeownership and financial stability among low-income to moderate-income individuals and families, and to avoid predatory lending practices.
This mission is realized through providing homeownership education classes and one-on-one counseling to potential homebuyers to move them from rental to homeownership. Homeownership is sustained through post purchase and foreclosure prevention counseling.
Sit down with our counselor and work through whatever stands between you and a mortgage approval. The following topics will be addressed:
- How to read your credit report and what needs to be corrected
- Strategies for improving your credit score
- How to create a spending plan that works for you
- How to create an action plan to meet your goals
- Down payment assistance
- How to choose the right home
This class is provided by Live The Dream to educate potential first-time homebuyers in every aspect of the home buying process. It is designed to help potential homebuyers learn about the mortgage loan process, finding the right house, budget and maintenance, and avoiding predatory lending.
So how does it work? Banks, realtors, home inspectors, attorneys, appraisers, insurance agents, and fair housing representatives all come together to teach about the home buying process, so you hear directly from the people you will be working with when you buy.
Single story, three bedrooms, two baths, and a two car garage, built by Live The Dream and reserved for qualified first-time buyers. See photos, specs, and Zillow listings for each home.
